"All Other Ground"
Hi Faith Family!
I pray you are happy and healthy today,
Last week my kids helped me clean up the old sandbox, getting it ready for the season. I got out all the leaves and pine needles, the kids threw in all the sand toys (good teamwork). The two youngest kids played in the sandbox for hours! They made sand cakes and sandpies; towers and houses.
Don't look for them today, of course. The sandpies have long since fallen apart. The sand houses have crumbled. The sand doesn't provide things that last very long.

It's an important lesson Jesus taught about our foundation. We usually focus on building our lives and house on the rock but we must not forget the clear warning, should we make a different choice:
But everyone who hears these words of mine and does not put them into practice is like a foolish man who built his house on sand. The rain came down, the streams rose, and the winds blew and beat against that house, and it fell with a great crash."
-Matthew 7
There is no "maybe" in those warnings. It will happen.
So, what an encouragement to build our lives, our future, our all on the Rock of Christ Jesus and his everlasting Word.
One of my professors sang a solo at the funeral of a fellow-professor. I sat up in the balcony that day, I remember him singing with the utmost conviction the hymn based on these words:
"On Christ, the solid Rock I stand
All other ground is sinking sand."
God bless your strong stand on the Rock.
Prayer idea: Pray for God's strength in your life. Pray for opportunities to witness your faith. Pray for those throughout the world who experience difficulty and persecution for their stand on the Rock.
