I pray the New Year continues to be awesome for you and your family. The above picture is our friend, Giao, winning a big prize during the BINGO! game during our Vietnamese New Year celebration. Giao started out her New Year in a great way--she had a wonderful gift to start out the Year of the Ox.
You may not have been a big BINGO! winner recently, but you have a tremendous gift as you move day through day this year. Psalm 29's last verse reads:
"The LORD gives strength to his people; the LORD blesses his people with peace."
I pray you have a great New Year--not just wishes for prosperity in the middle of an economic recession. I pray for you something deeper: a New Year which gives you an opportunity for renewed strength and peace centered in the loving actions of your mighty God.
The strength to carry on in financially challenging times where no job is recession-proof flows from a deeper strength generated in every believing heart through the Good News of sins forgiven through Jesus alone. Peace during times of job-search flows from the deeper-set peace of heart, mind, and soul . . . all because of what God has done for you because he loves you and always will.
Happy New Year, dear sister--dear brother in the faith. It
certainly will be a wonderful year we spend with our Lord and
with each other.
