Hi Faith Family,
I pray you are well and in good spirits today.
Happy New Year!
Wow, isn’t it exciting? Whole new year. Fresh slate.
What will it hold? What exciting things are on the horizon?
Some of you will have a change in family status. Wedding bells will be chiming for some of you. Babies are due to at least one couple on our list.
Some of you will have a change in health—better for some, a dip in health for others.
Some of you will have a change in you job.
Hey, change can be very good. But whatever changes this new year holds for you, your times are in God’s hands, as are mine.
Psalm three says, “I lie down and sleep; I wake again, because the LORD sustains me.” What a deep thought. You zonk out at night in your bed giving narry-a-thought to the flip side of that action, do you. I don’t. We sleep, but in that action there is a trust for the Christian: I place my trust in God that my eyelids will open again in the morning. If not, I’ll be even more joyful as my eyes take in His heavenly light (as Job’s words say, “I shall behold him with my own eyes—mine and not anothers).
OK, OK, OK, maybe I’m way ahead of you. Maybe you are struggling to get back in the swing of things.
You might have the “sugar blues.” Too many sweets and treats. Too many parties.
Well, then take it one step at a time by taking the first step correctly. Also from Psalm three:
“Deliver me, O my god! . . . From the LROD comes deliverance. May your blessing be on your people.”
What an encouraging thought. Whatever you are facing, big or small, take the important first step to make sure you are on the right path: Ask God For Help!
Maybe you have big things cookin’ this year. Maybe you don’t have big things you are preparing for in 08.
Whatever challenges God allows in your life, they are for a purpose. Challenge is your helpful friend to take you to a higher place. If not, you would still be on your belly crawling on the carpet looking for your pacifier.
God bless your heavenward direction as you start this new . . .
. . . fill in the blank . . .
