Hi Faith Family!
This is "trip" promises to be a quick one.
This series will endeavor to emphasise that a "guilt trip" is a good thing and a short trip. Our guilt trip is the distance between where you are right now and the cross of your loving Savior. I pray this will be a reflective and meaningful series as we together spend time in giving careful thought and consideration to all Jesus went through in order to show you his love for you. God bless you today.
How fast are you moving today? Perhaps you have a spring in your step. On the other hand, this may not be your best day ever. If you are feeling fine, you may be moving pretty fast. If you are late, you may have to be pickin' 'em up and puttin' 'em down in a hurry. Then again, if you are coming down with a cold, you may feel sluggish; like a wet sponge.
It's clear that various factors have an impact on exactly how fast we are moving. But how about that peculiar movement that is off the chart: running to meet someone. Well, if your years are still in the single digits, you may be more likely to do it. I have little kids who still run to greet me with welcome shouts of "Daddy's home!" But if you are over 22 years old, you may have trouble remembering the last person you ran to greet. If you are over 40, you most likely can't remember. If you are over 60, you probably don't remember much of anything in the category of running.
But one verse from my reading today stood out. I like the way Mark's Gospel "tells it like it is." In chapter 9, this is a tremendous recation from the poeple:
"As soon as all the people saw Jesus, they were overwhelmed with wonder and ran to greet him."
What a reaction! I pray your trip to the Savior today sets you free to embrace Jesus the way these people did.
How sad when we realize we have not always treasured our loving Savior as we sould.
But today, I pray you take a few moments to think about the guilt trip the Savior took to that hill outsidet the city. I encourage you to see his reaction to you--though you didn't deserve it, Jesus loved you. The proof is what Jesus did to save you. Jesus loves you and will be with you as you make your way through life.
May this freshen your steps as you serve God in whatever calling He has given you today. I pray we are all overwhealmed with wonder at the amazing things Jesus did in order to make us a part of his family now and forever. What fantastic benefits result from this guilt trip! What a loving and committed God we have who will be with us every day until he calls us home. God bless your day!
Prayer idea: Give thanks for your Savior Jesus and all he endured for your soul's salvation. Spend a moment to consider Jesus' time on the cross, giving thanks for his committed love toward you. Pray for someone you know who does not yet believe in Jesus.
Blessings on your week!
